Over Elout
My name is Elout Kielman and I am an osteopath. In my work, I view the body as a whole and investigate which factors may contribute to the development or persistence of complaints.
After all, complaints do not always originate at the location where they are felt. Various parts and systems of the body are constantly interconnected. Consequently, a limitation in the mobility of joints, connective tissue, organs, or other structures can affect the functioning of the body as a whole.
During an osteopathic consultation, I take ample time to listen to your story. I then examine not only the location of the complaint but also which other areas may be playing a role. Based on the examination, I develop a treatment plan that aligns with your specific needs, your body, and your daily workload.
My path to osteopathy
I have been working in healthcare since 2013. I started as a physiotherapist and completed the manual therapy training at SOMT in 2019. During these years, I have gained extensive experience with musculoskeletal complaints, recovery, load capacity, and guiding people who want to move more freely again.
Gradually, my interest grew in the question of why some complaints keep recurring or cannot be fully explained by the location where the pain is experienced alone. I wanted to be able to investigate more broadly and gain more insight into the interplay between various structures and systems in the body.
Therefore, I started the osteopathy training at the IAO in 2022, which I have since successfully completed. Osteopathy gives me the opportunity to connect my knowledge and experience with a broader approach to the body.
Careful and personal
No complaint and no body is the same. That is why I do not work with a standard protocol. I find it important to investigate thoroughly, clarify connections, and clearly explain what I observe.
My approach is personal, committed, and down-to-earth. I look beyond just the symptoms, but always keep your needs central. Together, we explore which factors may be influencing your complaints and what is needed to help your body function as well as possible.
Experience with sports and load capacity
In addition to my work in private practice, I have been involved with various top-level hockey teams since 2015. Through my experience in elite sports, I have gained extensive knowledge regarding recovery, load, load capacity, and the functioning of the body under physical stress. I incorporate this experience into my osteopathic approach, both for athletes and for people experiencing physical complaints in their daily lives.
Movement as part of my life
I also enjoy being active myself. I run, swim, and cycle, and regularly participate in triathlon events. As a result, moving, recovering, and listening to my body are not only part of my work but also of my daily life.
Whether you play sports, have a sedentary job, are recovering from a period of overuse, or have been experiencing symptoms for a long time: I enjoy working with you to determine what your body needs.
